In Dragonflight our toolkit is being added to with great utility and mobility spells as well. If outranging the enemy with Blink and Frost Nova isn't enough, try absorbing or negating the damage with any one of a variety of tools: Ice Block, Prismatic Barrier, Greater Invisibility or Mirror Image - or even ignoring it entirely by resetting the flow of time with Alter Time. On top of high burst damage, Mages are one of the most defensive spell-casting classes in the game. Mechanically, Arcane Mage is a caster who specializes in heavy burst damage output in short windows, boasting great defensives and offensive tools for most situations. They are typically unmatched when it comes to burst damage. They are able to rewind the flow of time itself faster and more frequently than any other Mage spec, using this for healing or mobility. I have played at the top end in the earlier expansions of WoW but now I prefer to keep my raiding time short and efficient.
